Texas Tech has taken its 2016 campaign in a new direction this season.
The Blue Raiders were the first team to lose two games in a row in the same season since the 1985-86 season.
The Red Raiders defeated Baylor State by 20 points in a non-conference contest in late November, and beat Texas Tech by 31 points in overtime in the Red Raiders’ season opener at Austin.
The two teams also split their first two contests this season with the Red Raider holding a 45-30 lead.
After their second win in two weeks, the Red and Blue are now tied with Texas Tech at 4-4 and two points back of No. 3 Oklahoma State for the Big 12 title.
Texas Tech, meanwhile, has won three straight and eight of its last 10 games.
A lot of focus has been placed on the Red/Blue’s strength of schedule as the Longhorns will look to rebound from a 13-game losing streak at home in 2016.
Texas A&M, on the other hand, will need to improve against the Aggies to match last year’s regular-season record.
The Red Raiders will face the Aggie Red Raiders on Saturday (4:30 p.m.
